December 26 – Veer Baal Diwas

Why This Day Is Special?

Veer Baal Diwas is observed to honor the supreme sacrifice of the two younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji—Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji—who chose death over conversion.

History Behind the Day

Declared by the Indian Government in 2022, this day remembers the martyrdom of the two brave Sahibzadas who, at a very young age, refused to give up their faith and were martyred on December 26, 1705.

Did You Know❓

  • They were only 9 and 6 years old when they were bricked alive by Mughal forces.
  • Their sacrifice is remembered as a symbol of unwavering faith and bravery.
  • Guru Govind Singh Ji lost all four sons in the fight for righteousness.

How Can We Celebrate?

  1. Share stories of bravery with children and peers.
  2. Attend prayer meetings and gurbani recitations in Gurudwaras.
